Sales Policy

Our entire herd is registered with the Myotonic Goat Registry (MGR).  All goat kids being sold for breeding or showing are registerable with MGR in the name of Naughty Goat Acres.  We provide  the registration papers and photo.  If goats are already registered, we provide the Registration Certificate and Transfer Application.

A $100 deposit is required to reserve a goat for purchase and is placed towards the purchase price.  Acceptable forms of payment include electronic, cash, personal check, or cashier's check.  A pickup date must be set at the time of deposit and you must give us the contact information you want us to use to reach you.

The remaining balance must be paid in cash or electronic payment either before or at the time the goat leaves our farm.

We prefer to have you pick up your new goat in person at our farm.  This gives us a chance to meet you and gives you the opportunity to see how your goat has been managed.  We realize this is not always possible.  Goat transport is arranged and paid for by the buyer.  This is in addition to the purchase price of the goat.  Pickup or transport must be scheduled within 2 weeks after the goat is ready to leave our farm.  When our farm situation allows, we do work with buyers who have a delayed pick up date and charge $50 per month for room and board.

If you do not make transport arrangements or miss your scheduled pickup time, we will attempt to reach you using the contact information you provided.  If 2 additional weeks have passed and arrangements are not made, the goat will be re-offered for sale and all deposits and payments previously made will be forfeited.  

Our herd is vaccinated yearly for CD&T.  All kids are vaccinated for CD&T at 4 weeks with a booster given in 3 weeks.  All of our goats are dewormed on an as needed basis using FAMACHA scores and fecal tests.  Each year we test all goats who are 1 year of age and older for Johnes, CAE and CL and all test results have been negative.  Results of our tests are available to prospective buyers.  Our goats have their hooves trimmed on a rotating 8 week schedule.  Any additional tests required by the buyer will be done at the buyer's expense.

All goats purchased from us are guaranteed to be in good health at the time of sale and when they leave our farm. If any goat develops health issues and a refund is requested, a health inspection by our veterinarian is required, with all costs being incurred by the party requesting the refund.  If our veterinarian is not able to examine the goat due to distance, then the buyer’s veterinarian must inspect the goat and contact our veterinarian to determine the cause. A refund will only be given if our veterinarian determines the health issues were genetic or contracted while the goat was on our farm. There are no refunds for other issues.

We are proud of our goats and develop an attachment to each goat under our care.  We work hard to give all of our goats a safe and healthy environment.  We promise to give you an honest assessment of each goat we offer for sale.  We will never sell a breeding goat that we would not use in our own breeding program.  We are available to all of our goat buyers after the sale and are happy to share our knowledge and experience.  We reserve the right to refuse a sale for any reason.
